CTG examination (cardiotocography)

Cardiotocography (CTG) is a diagnostic method and another examination provided by the Novakovic Polyclinic, which is performed according to the protocol in the third trimester of pregnancy and includes analysis of fetal heart rate and the presence of uterine activity (by type of contractions), that is, the fetal condition is determined.

CTG examination is performed earlier in pregnancy if there are signs of premature birth or threatened abortion (in the form of lower abdominal pain and/or vaginal bleeding) where uterine contractions are registered on a topographic record, which is called tocography.

CTG examination in combination with ultrasound parameters can warn of fetal condition problems in time, especially in high-risk pregnancies.
