Facelift surgery (rhytidectomy)

Facelifting is a surgical procedure whose goal is to rejuvenate the face. The intervention effects are reflected in tightened skin of the face, especially in the jawbone area, removing of deep wrinkles around mouth and nose, as well as fat pad removal in double chin. During this intervention, it is possible to tighten the forehead, eyebrows and cheekbones. This operation does not only mean removing the excess skin, but also tightening the deep structures of the face.

The operation is performed under general anesthesia and it lasts from 3 to 5 hours. Discharge from the hospital is usually the day after the intervention. Behind the ears and in the hair area, there are scars from the cuts and they are mostly invisible. It is often recommended that as part of this intervention, or subsequently we do some additional procedures, such as forehead or eyelid tightening, laser or chemical peeling, and in some cases liposuction and neck tightening. The removal of the sutures is done seven days after the operation and the patient returns to everyday activities after two weeks.
