Excess skin in the area of the upper arm and leg can occur after sudden weight loss or as a consequence of the aging process.
This surgical procedure involves removing excess skin and subcutaneous fat and tightening the remaining skin in the area of the upper arm or a thigh. The operation lasts about an hour under general anesthesia, and after the operation elastic bandages are placed, which must be worn for 2 weeks. The sutures are removed afterwards. The scar is positioned on the inside of the upper arm or upper leg, in order to be less visible.
