Professor dr Marijan Novakovic is a plastic surgeon, retired brigadier general of the medical service of the Serbian Army. He is a former head of the Military Medical Academy.
He graduated from the Military Gymnasium ‘Bratstvo i Jedinstvo’ in Belgrade and then enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine as a military scholarship holder. He graduated on time and passed the specialist exam with an excellent grade. He started his career as a department doctor at the Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Burns and gradually progressed to the position of the MMA head.
Dr Novakovic’s military career began more than 35 years ago when he was admitted to professional military service as a medical lieutenant. During his professional service, he was evaluated with the highest grades. He was proclaimed the best doctor of the clinic and praised many times.
He is the holder of the Order of Merit for the People with a Silver Star, the Medal of the Silver Angel and the Special Plaque of the Serbian Medical Association. His active military service ended at the end of 2014. He is the president of the Association for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
